In addition to being one of the professors in the YELA Climate Change Reading Group, Doug is currently with the law firm Van Ness Feldman in Washington, and he formerly served as the General Counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  All members of the Yale community are invited.

Robert B. McKinstry, Jr. '79 was the first joint-degree student to graduate from Law School and the School of Forestry. Currently, he is a partner in the Litigation Department, the Environmental Group, which he co-founded, and the Energy and Project Finance Group at Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP. Mr. McKinstry is the editor of the Biodiversity Conservation Handbook published by the Environmental Law Institute, and he will be speaking to us about his project in habitat banking under the Endangered Species Act for the threatened bog turtle.

Byron Kahr will present his SAW paper, entitled "The Right to Exclude Meets the Right to Ride: Private Property, Public Recreation, and the Rise of Off-Road Vehicles." He'll talk about the ecological and social impacts that off-road vehicles cause, with particular emphasis on increasing conflicts between off-road vehicle users and private landowners.

Professor Brad Gentry from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, who is also a part-time lawyer at Baker & McKenzie, spoke about his work with carbon finance.
